DOHA: The Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC) has announced its new executive committee and board of governors.
Indian Ambassador and IBPC Patron Dr Deepak Mittal was chief guest of the ceremony that saw outgoing president Azim Abbas handing over the reins to his successor Jaffer Us Sadik.
IBPC Coordinating Officer Angeline Premalatha (Counsellor – Political and Commerce), community leaders and presidents of IBPC-associated organisations were also present.
Sadik acknowledged his new responsibility and laid out the plans for what he described as a promising yet challenging task, which will be carried out under the guidance of the new board of governors led by Chairman J K Menon.
IBPC aims to take India-Qatar business and trade relations to new heights, while supporting the cause and improving the profiles of Indian businesspersons and professionals in Qatar, he said.
Mittal thanked the outgoing committee for a stellar performance, especially during the pandemic, and congratulated the incoming office-bearers for taking up their honorary positions in the revamped and restructured organisation, with ambitions of a sizeable increase in India-Qatar Trade, initiating more joint ventures between Indian and Qatari manufacturers and service providers and fostering closer ties with the Qatari business community.
IBPC, established in 1999, is an apex body operating under the aegis of the Indian Embassy and is registered as a professional body with the Qatar Financial Centre.
IBPC’s new mission is to be the preferred platform to empower Indian businesspersons and professionals by creating enrichment opportunities.
