MANAMA: Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced it has sent an invitation to its Qatari counterpart to send an official delegation to Bahrain as soon as possible, according to Bahrain News Agency.
The invitation, addressed by Bahrain Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani to Qatar Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani calls for bilateral talks between the two sides on issues and pending matters between the two countries, in order to implement the Al Ula Declaration.
The letter states: “I would like to inform you that in implementation of what was stipulated in the Al Ula Declaration by the forty-first session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council held in Al Ula Governorate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I am pleased to invite your esteemed Ministry to send an official delegation to the Kingdom of Bahrain as soon as possible, to start bilateral discussions between the two sides on issues and pending topics between the two countries, in order to implement what was stipulated in the Al Ula Declaration, to reach the lofty goals we aspire to achieve for the benefits of the citizens of the two brotherly countries, and to strengthen joint Gulf action.”
It added: “We inform your Excellency that the Kingdom of Bahrain has formed two committees, (a follow-up committee and a legal committee), as stipulated in the Al Ula statement. Please accept, Excellency, the assurance of my highest consideration.”
