DOHA: With the rapid vaccination programme undertaken by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), 95.3 per cent of people above the age of 40 have received one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, the Ministry has said.
According to the data by the Ministry, more than 85 per cent of people over 40 years are fully vaccinated in the country. People are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the second dose.
Qatar ranks among the top 10 countries in the world in Covid-19 vaccination, compared to its population.
Since the National Vaccination Programme began in December, 3.503 million vaccine doses were administered. Also 1,906,753 people have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and 1,596,287 have received both doses.
More than 66 percent of total population (16 years and above) of the country are fully vaccinated, while 78.4 per cent have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
With the elderly more at risk of contracting Covid-19, 93.5 per cent people over 60 years of age in Qatar are fully vaccinated and 98.6 per cent have received at least one dose.
