DOHA: Qatar Airways has been named as the world’s best airline for 2021 by AirlineRatings.com in its annual Airline Excellence Awards.
Qatar Airways won the AirlineRatings.com 2021 Airline of the Year award for its commitment to keeping the world’s air routes open during Covid-19, as well as for its innovation, new products and in-flight service.
AirlineRatings.com Founder and Editor-in-Chief Geoffrey Thomas said: “Airline Ratings Excellence Awards are aptly named, for, at every touchpoint, excellence is the goal at Qatar Airways led by its inspirational Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker.”
He added: “Al Baker’s drive for perfection has led to many improvements in both Airbus and Boeing aircraft and travellers across the world are better off because of the passion and the pursuit of excellence of Qatar Airways.”

Qatar Airways was also awarded Best Business Class, Best Catering, and Best Middle East Airline.
