WE ARE living in a selfish world in which personal interests are supreme. A world in which none cares about others and everyone is greedy and envious, except for a few people. Everyone is sneaky and always listening to everything others say and they want to know everything about everyone.
This is also a world of greed. People have their lost good manners and all that we care about is getting rich.
Good people have become a minority and they are hard to find. They are like gems amidst stones or bright stars in the dark sky. The reason for this is that bad persons, with bad manners, spread their dark thoughts in the society; they are like onions in a basket of apples. They have corrupted the society with their sick thoughts and souls. Their thoughts, which poisoned the society, made even good people wary in dealing with others so that there is no longer a pure interaction between people. Everyone is afraid that the other is a bad person.
The spread of poverty, hunger, disease, and epidemics in the world have changed people to the point that they are no longer good because of need, suffering, and fear.
I have seen a lot of people change, who have lost their souls, people I used to call friends and brothers and family. This may be due to the circumstances of life and pressure, and the tough world we live in, where the big eat the small and people only listen and respect the strong person even if he is wrong and disrespects the weak.
If we continue in this path, humanity will be lost and extinct even if people are there and they will be like empty shells without souls and manners.
But still, there is hope. Humanity must live on. There are good people in this world despite the fact that there are bad people everywhere and they spread corruption and fight everyone who raises the voice of right and justice.
These good-hearted people are fighting for the survival of humanity; they are like a lighthouse amidst a sea of darkness.
We must teach our children about history and honour, and that the most important thing is good manners and that the person must not change his manners and principles because of poverty, hunger, fear, or the influence of others, and not do what bad people will do no matter what in order not to lose our humanity.
And this reality has become a fact in every country. Therefore, we must take some time to stop and think about what we did. It’s a tragedy what we have become and the size of pain have become very big in the souls of many people thinking about how to redeem ourselves and move towards salvation.
The words of Gibran Khalil, a Lebanese-American writer, poet, and philosopher, show us the way forward.
Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding
it is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self
therefore trust the physician and drink his remedy in silence and tranquility.
We must introspect ourselves and think about what we did even if we are good people and we have to make sure that our actions are for a good deed and good cause and God is watching us.
